LITTLE TOOLS. LESS FRICTION.

A readable PDF starts in the print preview.

To save Markdown as PDF, paste the source into the converter, choose a style and A4 or Letter, then click “Print / Save as PDF”. Select a local PDF destination in the browser’s print dialog and save. If Chinese characters, tables or colors look wrong, use the checks below before sharing the file.

Save the document, not the toolbox page

Use the tool’s own print button after applying your text or selecting a Markdown file. It opens a separate print document containing your content. Printing the toolbox page with a browser shortcut can include the navigation and controls instead.

  1. Paste Markdown and choose “Use this text”, or select a local .md file.
  2. Choose Standard, Compact or Code style and A4 or Letter. Use a paper size accepted by the recipient.
  3. Click “Print / Save as PDF”. In Chrome choose a local “Save as PDF” destination; in Safari on Mac use the PDF menu and “Save as PDF”. Labels can vary by browser and operating system.
  4. Inspect all pages, then save and reopen the PDF. Closing or cancelling the print dialog does not create a file.

Chinese text shows boxes or changes line breaks

The print document uses installed system fonts, including Chinese font fallbacks. It does not turn Chinese text into an image or download a web font. If a character is missing in print preview, check whether the source already contains a replacement character, whether your device has a font for that script, and whether the preview has finished loading. Try the sample on the same device. Emoji, rare characters and line wrapping can differ across systems; inspect the saved PDF as well as the preview.

Wide tables, code blocks and page breaks

A4 and Letter have different printable areas. Long URLs, wide tables and long code lines may need source edits or print-scale adjustment. Try Compact style, shorten headings or table cells, or split an unusually wide table. Check the last column and the last line on every page; shrinking everything until it is unreadable is not a useful fix. For detailed layout editing, export to Word first.

Missing colors or unwanted URL and date

If code shading or colored table headings disappear, enable “Background graphics” or the equivalent option in the print dialog. Disable browser headers and footers if you do not want a date, URL or page title added. These controls belong to the browser, so they may be under “More settings” or a browser-specific print panel. Preview the changed result before saving.

Why some images and diagrams are absent

HTTP(S) images are removed and reported so printing does not contact an outside image server. Relative paths cannot be resolved from a local Markdown file. Supported inline data-image URLs can print, but image loading and available device memory still matter. The file picker accepts Markdown/text, not a folder of image assets. LaTeX and Mermaid are not rendered as equations or diagrams: their source remains text or code.

Use this final check before sharing

Our October 26 local check opened Safari’s print preview with Chinese text, a table and ordered items. This is a functional check on that device, not a claim that every browser produces the same PDF. Use the original test file to repeat the check in your own browser.

CheckA useful pass condition
TextFind a Chinese phrase in the reopened PDF and try selecting/copying it.
Tables and codeThe final column and long lines are visible and readable.
Paper and marginsThe recipient’s paper requirement is met; no necessary content is cropped.
Images and diagramsAny omitted content has been replaced or explained.
File savedA PDF exists on your device and opens. “Print flow finished” alone is not proof of saving.
