THE DETAILS

A little more about this tool

What it does

This tool converts Markdown into a Word document (.docx) built element by element: headings become real Word heading styles (so the navigation pane and table of contents work), lists and tables become native Word lists and tables, quotes become indented paragraphs, and code becomes monospace runs on a light background. The .docx opens in Microsoft Word, WPS Office, Pages and Google Docs.

Good to know

Inline formatting (bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code), links, lists, tables and code blocks are preserved. Images are not embedded in this version: every image is skipped and counted in the result, so you can add them in Word afterward. Math notation and Mermaid diagrams stay as plain text.

Verify the no-upload promise

Open developer tools → Network, then convert a file. The .docx is assembled in browser memory and handed to you as a download; no request contains your Markdown or the result.

FAQ

Good questions, clear answers

Are the headings real Word styles?

Yes. H1–H6 map to Word’s built-in Heading 1–6 styles, so the navigation pane, outline view and generated table of contents recognize your document structure.

Will it open in WPS or Google Docs?

Yes. The output is a standard .docx (Office Open XML) file that opens in Microsoft Word, WPS Office, Apple Pages and Google Docs.

What happens to math and diagrams?

They are kept as their original text for now — LaTeX and Mermaid cannot be faithfully converted to editable Word objects in the browser. Everything else converts normally.

Why were images skipped?

Embedding images faithfully requires decoding them inside the converter; in this version every image — data URL, relative or remote — is skipped and counted in the result note. Convert first, then place the images in Word where you need them.

Is my document uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. You can verify with the Network tab — no request contains your content.
